Friends of Asas 50
Asas ’50 received a boost especially with respect to managing its activities and documentation through its strong relationship and cooperation with the National Library Board (NLB). This was manifested in the Memorandum of Understanding between Asas ’50 and NLB which was signed in 2003. In synergy, Asas ’50 and NLB are working hand in hand towards the compilation and documentation of Singapore’s most reputed and prolific writers, especially the winners of the Tun Seri Lanang Award. The NLB was also instrumental in its support for the documentation of the working papers at the 12 th Regional Malay Literati Conference (Pertemuan Sasterawan Nusantara ke-12) as well as the production of the first ever Singapore Malay writers’ directory, Leksikon. This symbotic relationship has gone from strength to strength and will continue to progress in the pursuit of knowledge and the development of literature.
